My name is Audrey Quick. I’m a nutrition educator, with the emphasis on educator.  I look at the scientific research, not anecdotes and pretty stories when I look at the latest diet craze.  My goal is to teach you the science so that you will not only know what to eat, you’ll know why.  It’s always easier to do something, if it makes sense to you.

Several years ago, when my son was born, I was struggling to take off the baby weight (and to be honest, the pre-baby weight too!).  I went back to some plans that had worked for me in the past, but they weren’t working for me this time.  I realized that I was taking the wrong approach to weight loss.  Most popular plans tell you to eat smaller portions.  This might lead to weight loss at first, but eventually you’ll either get too hungry (and humans were not designed to be hungry!), or your portions will gradually grow again.

Instead, I found that by changing the types of food that I was eating, I didn’t have to feel hungry, and I could lose weight.  These days I eat lots of the foods that are low in calorie density and I avoid those foods that are higher in calories and low on nutrition.  My energy levels are greater than when I was in my 20’s, and I’m losing weight, in spite of an under-active thyroid.

Losing weight myself, gives me a unique perspective to help my clients take off the pounds that they wish to shed.  I’ve been in your shoes, so I know what this journey is like.
